Who We Are
Founded by missionary statesman Dr. Lester Sumrall (1913–1996) in 1987 in response to God’s message to him, “That My church in the third world does not die of hunger before I return.”
Feed The Hungry has delivered more than $400 million of food and supplies to people in over 92 nations around the globe, while also feeding over 600,000 children daily in 33 countries.
Feed The Hungry also responds by providing food, aid, and relief, to local and foreign emergencies or disasters such as floods, hurricanes, The Ukrainian War, The Karamoja Famine, etc.

We follow Christ’s calling to fulfill the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of people in crisis.
Through financial and prayer support like yours, we deliver food and supplies using a pastor-to-pastor, church-to-church strategy.

Before distributing food, we secure guarantees from government agencies, giving us the right to distribute food directly through local churches who know the people—and the need—in their communities.
Under our direction and leadership, food is distributed as intended. Even more important, Christ is shared with hurting people who need to hear of His love!
